My Story

My name is Jeremy Pitoy. I am 17 years old. I was injured in a car accident last september, that had changed my whole life. I had incomplete C5-6 (neck) spinal cord injury. I thank God that my spinal cord was not severed, but it was badly contused. I have been paralyzed since the accident. My upper body is getting stronger & after 6 weeks, I started to move my left toes. Now I have more movements on my left leg. but still none on my right.

I have a hope and dream that one day I will walk again. There is a little problem though. The outpatient therapy that I am getting in the hospital is limited due to health insurance. I was told that these therapies will only help me to be more independent on the wheelchair. One day I was introduced to a physical therapy and training that are unlike any others... It’s called Adapt Advance.

I believe with your prayers and intense therapy will help my dream comes true... my dream to walk

Standing up

Hi Friends and Family,
Thank you so much for your monetary supports and continuous prayer for Jeremy. We are overwhelmed with gratitude. Jeremy had started his intense training in Project Walk since Jan 3rd, 2008 and made tremendous progress. He also continues his outpatient therapy in the hospital. His left leg is getting stronger , he can stand with 1 person assistance for 10-15 second . His right leg is coming alive, he is starting to wiggle his right toes. He can move some fingers and his left thumb. Still very weak, but are signs of more healing. Jeremy started school again past winter break taking only 4 classes because his therapies are priority at this time. The school district provided a person to aid him in his school activities. God has been good and We pray that God will reward your kindness a hundred fold.

God bless,
Jeremy's Mom & Dad

Dear Jermy; my name is Stewart Morrison & although we have never met & I'm in Texas, I truly feel what your going through. I've been in a chair since 2006, I became ill with a rare disease called transverse myliteus which broke me down from 10ft tall & bulletproof to almost dead & paralyzed from t-3 (chest down) in a matter of days as the hospital I was in misdiagnosed me. OVER THE COURSE OF 3.5 months I flatlined for 4 minutes & had a very sureal out of body (white light) experience; medically induced comas; ICU for 1.5 monts; every major organ in my body shut down & even though the doctors told my parents I was going 2 die on 3 seperate occasions, by the grace of God here I am today. NTAF wouldn't help me cause I wasn't in a traumatic accident, though I don't understand what I went through isn't considered traumatic so recently I have started my own non-profit organization called the "DREAM 2 WALK" Foundation which is how I found you because our sites are so similar actually my mother found you; anyway I'm 33 & completly inspired by you; I'm currently working on fundraising myself to enter a program in Austin called Roll 2 Walk (Project Walk); although my foundation is in it's begining stages, we don't even have our dream2walk.org website finished yet we are on the doorsteps of opening things up to a much larger scale & if your interested when we get to a point that we are able to move past my own therapy cost ect. I'd like you 2 be the first person besides myself that we help with financial need; The "DREAM2WALK FOUNDATION" was established with the sole purpose & intent to raise financial support through a variety of avenues for use on scholarship funds linked to rehabilitation of designated spinalcord individuals; including but not limited to therapy & travel expenses; as well as contributing to other charitable organizations which benefit spinalcord research & development. You can contact me at smorrison@dream2walk.org or search for me on facebook Stewart C. Morrison or send me a link to your fb page; we can stay in touch & in time Hopefully I will be able to help you with your needs; God bless & keep up the good work !
